The International Labor Organization estimates there are over 30 million victims of human trafficking worldwide.
They define human trafficking as forced labor which includes sex
trafficking, commercial sexual exploitation, and forced labor exploitation in both the private
sector and state imposed. Of the sex trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation victims,
99% of the victims are women and girls. Without a deep understanding of how prevalent the problem is, it is difficult to create lasting solutions.
Moms in Security Global Outreach
is a not-for-profit organization that focuses its efforts on fundraising and awareness for victims of human trafficking and child exploitation. Our goal is to be a liaison between the security industry, law enforcement, and public/private organizations to create actionable solutions in the fight against human trafficking.
We aim to shine light on the monstrous issue of human trafficking and to offer ideas for creating awareness, safe reporting mechanisms, and partnerships that support the recovery and rehabilitation of victims and reunification with their families.
Meet The Team
Our amazing team of partners and volunteers are committed to the rescue efforts and after
care of abused and trafficked children, teens, and young adults. Thanks to the support of the
security community, we are making real strides. Our volunteers provide the momentum that
helps us make a significant impact.
Elisa Mula formed Moms in Security Global O (MISGO) in X to help law enforcement access critical security technologies that support the rescue efforts of human trafficking victims. She holds a Masters’ Degree in Protection Management from John Jay College, where she developed an extensive knowledge-base of security grants, physical security best practices, and advanced technologies vital to MISGO’s mission. Her depth of experience allows her to connect with public and private sector security professionals and to identify and help with accessing the proper technologies for law enforcement and human trafficking crusaders.
“I am inspired by the work of security professionals that redirect their careers in order to rescue children and to shine a light on the unimaginable magnitude of human trafficking inside the US and across the globe. As a mother, I am compelled to call upon other mothers and security professionals who are willing to make this same sacrifice . I believe in a mother’s maternal instinct to protect our children and humanity. There are many security professionals with the knowhow to share in our efforts and who are equally as committed to our mission and vision. For this, I am eternally grateful.”

Why I love this work:
As a mom and security professional, it is natural to be called to this work of rescuing exploited women and children. As a cybersecurity professional, recognizing how predators use modern technology to groom and exploit our most vulnerable populations drives this passion even more. It is an honor to be able to work towards this mission alongside so many dedicated individuals.
